Grupo Piedade uses the latest technology available in the world of cork for manufacturing a new type of cork stopper, PIEcork, for still and sparkling wines. PIEcork is a technical cork stopper produced by individual moulding, using 2 to 6 mm granulates. This technique allows for more homogeneous cork stoppers to be obtained, ensuring proper and uniform behaviour at the level of mechanical performance, specifically with regard to elasticity, compression force, resistance to boiling water and liquid seal capability.
